Planning & Permits
Do I need a permit to build a fence in DFW?
Usually, yes — most DFW cities require a permit, especially for fences over 6 feet tall or on corner lots. We check your city's requirements, file the paperwork, and follow up with city officials until approval.
How long does fence permit approval take?
Anywhere from a few days to about two weeks, depending on the city. We handle the application and the follow-up so your project keeps moving.
What happens if I build a fence without a permit?
You risk fines or even forced removal of the fence. It's not worth it — we sort out permitting for you before any post goes in the ground.
How tall can a privacy fence be in DFW?
Most cities allow 6 to 8 feet depending on zoning. We'll confirm your city's rules and any HOA requirements before we build.

Materials
What's the best fence material for Texas weather?
For most DFW homes, cedar pickets on galvanized steel posts offer the best blend of durability, looks, and long-term value. Vinyl and aluminum handle the heat best with the least maintenance. UV and wind resistance matter most — avoid untreated wood and thin vinyl panels.
What types of wood fences do you install?
Cedar, pine, and pressure-treated wood, in board-on-board, side-by-side, and modern horizontal styles. Cedar is the most popular choice in DFW thanks to its natural resistance to rot and insects.
How long does a wood fence last in Texas?
Ten years or more with periodic staining and sealing. Texas sun and storms are tough on wood, so upkeep every few years makes a real difference.
Do vinyl fences crack in the Texas heat?
Texas sun is brutal on cheap panels — that's why we install heat-rated vinyl. Quality vinyl won't rot, warp, or need repainting, and typically lasts 10–30 years.
Will a wrought iron fence rust?
Bare iron can rust — that's why our iron fences are powder-coated against it. With periodic touch-ups, wrought iron can last 50 years or more.
How long does a chain link fence last?
Around 15–20 years. Galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link is budget-friendly, low-maintenance, and great for pets and security.

Installation
How long does fence installation take?
Most installations take 1–4 days, depending on the length of the fence, the material, and site conditions. We'll give you a clear timeline with your quote.
How does your installation process work?
Three steps. We Visit: we come by, check out your yard, and help you choose the right fence. We Quote: you get a clear, fair quote with no hidden fees, valid for 60 days. We Build: our crew shows up on time, calls 8-1-1 before digging, sets strong posts in concrete, and builds your fence clean and straight.
Are estimates really free?
Yes — all estimates are 100% free with no obligation, and every quote stays valid for 60 days.

Repairs & Maintenance
Should I repair or replace my fence?
Repair is usually the right call when damage is limited to a few posts or panels. If the fence is leaning or rotting in multiple sections — or it's 15+ years old — replacement is often more cost-effective. We'll give you an honest recommendation either way.
How quickly can a fence be repaired?
Many repairs are finished the same day. We fix leaning posts, broken panels, sagging gates, and storm damage on wood, metal, vinyl, and chain link fences.
How often should I stain my fence?
Every 2–3 years, depending on sun and weather exposure. Staining repels moisture, prevents rot, and slows fading — it protects the fence, not just the look.

Gates
Can any gate be automated?
Most can, depending on material, size, and location. We install both wired and solar-powered systems with remotes, keypads, and smartphone integration — and we repair openers, motors, and sensors too.
Can you add a walk gate to an existing fence?
Yes. A walk gate is a pedestrian gate, usually 3 to 5 feet wide. We adjust the posts as needed and match the gate to your fence's style and color.
